Rod is one of the bass guitar players in Showaddywaddy and can often be seen taking part in the dance routines on stage. He was born in Scarborough on 13th February 1948 and for the next sixteen years because of his father's occupation lived in Malta, Scotland and the county of Hampshire in England. He started playing in groups in Malta whilst at school and joined The Hammers after moving to Leicester from London. When in London, he was a member of a nearly successful group called 'Jackel'. Rod now lives in a village on the outskirts of Derby. He can be heard singing the third verse of 'Rock 'n' Roll Music' on Showaddywaddy's third album 'Trocadero'. This picture on the left shows Rod performing at the Swap Shop Rock Garden Party, Jubilee Gardens in London, Spring Bank Holiday 29th May 1978.
