Bass player Billy Norman joined Showaddyaddy in January 2018 in support of original bass player Rod Deas. His first gig with the band was at Billingham Forum on 2nd Feb 2018.
Billy played alongside Rod (who whilst remaining in the band, had hung up his bass) until Rod left SWW on 25th Jan 2019.
On 10th August 2020, it was announced that Billy was to leave Showaddywaddy, along with Ray Hatfield and Dean Loach. Billy’s last gig with Showaddywaddy was on Weds 18th March 2020 at Butlins, Skegness - Showaddywaddy's last gig before Covid-19 lockdown. Billy played over 200 gigs in his 2 years with the band.
Upon leaving the band Billy said, “I am humbled by the love and support of the band’s fans. From the start I was overwhelmed by the welcome given to me by the SWW fan family. I didn’t expect it, and it made my time in the band truly magical. I loved working with talented and thoroughly nice musicians. I wish everyone a happy and healthy future”.
